PtL Release?

There are unconfirmed reports that MGM are currently putting together a DVD boxset of S1 of Poltergeist: The Legacy. The news was posted on the Legacyweb forum by Jay Cappe, one of the series writers, and you can read his post over there. There is currently no more information available but now may be a good time to register your vote at TV Shows on DVD if you haven’t already. They have links with the industry and are usually first with news of pending releases.

One release I can confirm though is the complete series boxset of life as we know it on 23 August.

Devour Release

It looks like Devour will be getting a “straight to video” release on 17 May 2005. Please note that this date remains unconfirmed at this time and I will of course keep you updated.

DVD News

Over the next few months there are a few DVD boxset releases that may be of interest to those watching out for Martin’s early work. Stephen J Cannell has signed a distribution agreement with Anchor Bay to release his TV series on DVD, this will include 21 Jump Street and The Commish. You can check out the Television pages to verify which seasons feature a young Martin.

In a similar vein, there are rumours that MGM plan to release series boxsets of The Outer Limits. Of course, the one show we all want to see on DVD, namely Poltergeist: The Legacy is still being overlooked.

Jason News

For those of you who love a horrorfest, Paramount have released the specs for the forthcoming Friday the 13th DVD boxset which will of course contain Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan. Features will include commentaries, documentaries and cast interviews, although it doesn’t look like Martin has participated. The boxset is likely to be released in October in the US.

I also have bad news for those still searching high and low for a copy of We All Fall Down – it looks like the film is no longer available for purchase. If I hear otherwise, you will be the first to know.

Highlander: Counterfeit

Some double episodes of the series Highlander are being released on individual R1 DVDs at the end of May. Martin featured in the S2 episode Counterfeit Part One and this is being released along with the second part under the title Highlander: Counterfeit. Those of you in the UK can order it via Play USA but do remember that it is an R1 disc so please make sure you have a compatible player before ordering!
